A city close to my heart, where my best mate lives. That alone would be grounds enough to immortalise it in paint, however it's also a unique city. Where the countryside and sea bleed into the city streets, medieval meets modern and colour leaps out against a slate grey sky. Mix that together with the sharp witted warm-hearted residents and you've got something really special, and that's from me a lover of sun!

Standing proudly on the edge of the postcard is the stunning Red Grouse, when the sun hits this birds plumage just right and explosion of colour ensues, flashes of orange give way to pink, deep burgundies and rich dark purple.
